From Breakdown to Breakthrough: A Message You Need to Hear
Feeling Stuck? This Shift Could Change Everything…
It’s been a while. I wish I could say I was having more fun, but in truth, I was being broken down on all levels—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—facing a debilitating illness that left me falling apart.
Maybe you can relate. Our bodies often whisper to us when something is out of alignment, but if we ignore the signs, they eventually send a message we can’t ignore.
They say if we don’t make time for our wellness, we’ll be forced to make time for our illness. In my case, I was unknowingly dealing with mold poisoning for a long time, which triggered old viruses, autoimmune issues, and ultimately, neurological symptoms that forced me to step back from everything.
For a while, I thought I was dying. But really, I was being broken open—because my life was out of alignment, and I wasn’t actively living my purpose.
And I know I’m not alone. Lately, I’ve noticed so many people around me experiencing unexpected breakdowns—mystery illnesses, sudden challenges, and overwhelming uncertainty. The world itself is unraveling, revealing everything that isn’t working.
A friend recently asked me how I’m finding peace amid all this. My answer? I can only control what I can control. My wake-up call reminded me to return to my purpose, to do what I’m here to do. That’s why I’m showing up again—to support those who feel the same shift happening and encourage you to embrace the change.
Here are some powerful reframes that might inspire you to see any recent losses or challenges you’ve had this season in a new light…
#1 Loss creates space for something new to emerge. We need what’s not working to fall away so our minds and lives aren’t cluttered so we can focus on our mission.
It’s often when things are going well that we become complacent and we don’t do the more meaningful things we are here to do.
#2 When we are grieving and seemingly falling apart we are closest to the sacred. According to the Lakota people, grief and loss is a time of spiritual reverence and is a holy time when we are thought to be closer to the creator. It’s through these humbling times that miracles can happen if we allow spirit into the cracks to help heal us.
Like Nietzsche said, ‘The crack is in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
Which brings me to my last point…
#3 The beauty is in the breakthrough and the breaking.. and how we chose to rebuild after loss and trauma. The Japanese have a word for this you may know. It’s Kintsugi-beauty in the broken.
When a precious object falls and shatters, it’s not thrown away or devalued. Instead it’s tenderly put back together, sealed and mended with liquid gold. This mending increases the value of the object and carries the story of its breaking.
We, too, can take what’s broken and rebuild with wisdom, resilience, and purpose.
So, what if loss isn’t just an ending, but a gift? What if what’s falling away is making space for something greater?
When the world feels like it’s falling apart, let’s shift our focus. Let’s be the light in the darkness. Let’s create something new.
Your challenge and homework for this week: Reframe a recent loss. Where is the hidden blessing?
With tons of love,
