My dad used to whack me with a metal spatula with a floral design on it when I said a bad word or acted out of line. He’d slip it right beneath my eyes so I could admire it before it brandished me with flowers on my bare bottom for an always terrifying punishment.

At that time I never thought that decades later, I’d have grown men stuck in similar past episodes of trauma, begging me to give them a spanking to release their sins (which I talk about more in my memoir Playing Karma: A former church girl’s true jounrey from bondage to empowerment ).
